Yoga for Nervous System

We never really encounter the world; all we experience is our own nervous system.

– Krishna-Dwaipayana Vyasa

We are energy before we are matter. We are our nervous system before we are anything else. Our nervous system is our filter between the world and ourselves. It is the electrical matrix of all communication processes in a complex vessel known as the human body.

Indeed we are a jaw-dropping power-generating circuitry of walking electrical energy. We have incredible power to cultivate, manage, direct and transmute this inherent electricity to alchemize and transform our state of being.

Yoga for Nervous System is all about tapping into our inherent electrical magnetic energy to feel our most magnificent pulse and live radiantly alive. We want to access and rewire the inside in order to change the outside.

Yoga for Nervous System combines dynamic breath and movement (yang and masculine) with complementary nourishing, long-held poses (yin and feminine) to impact the juicy glandular secretions that are the very foundation of our physical, mental, emotional and energetic well being. There is intentional surging, pressurizing and direction of energy alongside tension and compression to create intentional release. In conscious engagement and surrendering, we learn to listen to the signals of our sensory system and wisdom of the body.

We are the strength of our nervous system. Yoga for Nervous System is energy medicine because the intricately designed human body is created to self-heal.

The secular practice:

  • Builds resilience, stability and self-authority
  • Breaks addictive behavior
  • Disrupts patterns to create new neural pathways and inspire a new way of being emotionally, mentally and physically
  • Releases conscious, subconscious and unconscious memories and patterns stored in the nervous system
  • Releases issues stored in tissues
  • Stimulates the intelligence of the body to rebalance, reset and restore itself
  • Strengthens immune system

What students say:

“It’s been about 20 years since I had done Hatha yoga so I was concerned if the class may be too advanced and whether or not I can keep up.  It was all good – different – and I’m already looking forward to the next class. “

“I could feel a strong electrifying energy running through my body and I felt so powerful.”

“I felt my heart expanded… expansion of energies… so much to give and receive.”

“Feeling lighter, maybe more radiant.  So much so, I’ve decided to make a commitment for ‘me’ time every Saturday practising yoga with you.”

“I’m enjoying your classes very much and slept really well afterwards.”

“It was a really good class. I really felt cleansed.”

Yin Yoga

Yin Yoga is the art of deep listening. Nourishing long-held Yin poses are the perfect tools for self-inquiry and self-understanding, to pave the way for courageous, heart-centered living. This compassionate, contemplative practice is centered in the practice of surrendering with grace to find our way h[om]e. We navigate sensations on the mat to listen in to stories told and untold. We cultivate curiosity and sensitivity on the mat so the refined awareness connects us to our inner observer and our greatest teacher, the guru residing in our hearts.

Yin yoga is more than an antidote to our masculine, task-oriented lifestyle, or prescription for release of issues in our tissues. The slow practice is the perfect meditation tool to tune into the intricacies [Y]inside.
